Endorses Marc Berman for Assembly

State Assembly candidate and Palo Alto City Councilmember Marc Berman has earned the endorsement of the San Mateo County Firefighters, IAFF Local 2400.
"Marc Berman has always shown a commitment to listen to and work with the men and women who work in public safety. As a member of the Palo Alto City Council, he understands the risks that we firefighters take every day in protecting our communities. His leadership in Palo Alto has convinced us that he will be the best fit for the 24th State Assembly District,” said John Wurdinger, President of IAFF Local 2400.
“I am honored and humbled to have the support of the San Mateo County Firefighters, IAFF Local 2400,” said Berman. “Their members protect the people of San Mateo County on a daily basis and I am deeply appreciative of their support. If elected, I will fight on their behalf in Sacramento, as they continue to fight for us.”
The San Mateo County Firefighters, IAFF Local 2400 represent over 500 members and their families in nine different fire agencies and one EMS agency. Chartered in 1974, Local 2400 fights for the working conditions and safety of their members, while at the same time protecting the communities they serve.
With their endorsement of Berman, the San Mateo County Firefighters, IAFF Local 2400 joins numerous state and local leaders in supporting Berman for State Assembly, including incumbent Assemblymember Rich Gordon, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, Speaker pro Tempore Kevin Mullin, Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith, and Supervisors Don Horsley and Warren Slocum, former Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson, AFSCME Council 57, and the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA) Pacific Southwest Region.
