State Assembly candidate and Palo Alto City Councilmember Marc Berman has earned the endorsement of San Mateo County Controller Juan Raigoza in his campaign for the 24th Assembly District.
“Controller Raigoza is a champion of fiscal responsibility and increased transparency. He has been a great steward of San Mateo County’s finances and it’s an honor to have his support,” said Berman. “We share a commitment to, and track record of, making public finances easier to understand so taxpayers know how their money is being spent, and I look forward to working with him to apply the best practices we’ve developed at the local level in Sacramento.”
Controller Raigoza’s endorsement comes as the Berman campaign continues to build momentum following a decisive first-place finish in the primary, including receiving endorsements from Secretary of State Alex Padilla, State Treasurer John Chiang, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone, Mountain View Councilmember and primary opponent Mike Kasperzak, California Young Democrats, and the California Professional Firefighters. They join numerous state and local leaders in supporting Berman for State Assembly, including incumbent Assemblymember Rich Gordon, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, former California State Controller Steve Westly, Assembly Speaker pro Tempore Kevin Mullin, Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon, Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen, Equality California, California Labor Federation, and AFSCME California PEOPLE.
